“Buy it for life” is the concept of focusing your purchases on products that are durable, practical, proven, and made-to-last. I love this because the benefit is two-fold. One, it’s actually CHEAPER over time, because you’re not having to replace your items over and over. Second, it’s actually MORE ENJOYABLE the entire time. It’s MUCH nicer to use high quality items that last forever, rather than cheap crappy stuff that frustratingly fails to measure up.
I personally love the concept of “fewer things and nicer things”. When I travel, it’s almost always with a single school sized backpack. Inside is my laptop, a kindle, a charger, a few small essential items, and five days or so of clothes. If the trip is longer than that, I do laundry.
It’s absolutely FREEING being able to jump on a plane and fit all your luggage under the seat in front of you. And guess what. On these trips I’m HAPPY. I don’t have much stuff, but what I do have is NICE. And lasts a long time. I always imagine I could live a happy life like that!
Which brands do you love that meet the bar of “buy it for life”? Any on this list that you don’t agree with?
