As @judgemarilynmilian often says, “Lo barato sale caro” or “The cheap comes out expensive”. I see it all the time. In the case of cars, someone is sick of their old car. They don’t want to waste any money on it. They don’t want to spend $200-$300 to detail their car, so they skip it. Instead they get fed up and buy a BRAND NEW CAR which can cost many hundreds of dollars a month MORE than a one time detail or a one time fee of $20,000+!
But then as they get their car ready to sell, they wash and vacuum it really well, then realize “Wait a minute, this car is so nice, I want to keep it!” So think about about splurging for the car detail once per year. If it delays you from upgrading your car by even a MONTH you’ll likely come out financially ahead, and you’ll have a sparkling clean car to drive!
As always, reminding you to build wealth by following the two PFC rules: 1.) Live below your means and 2.) Invest early and often.
