How To Get Started Investing With Fidelity

WELCOME TO LEARN TO INVEST WEEK! (plz read captions this week!)

This week we’ll be giving a crash course in how to get started investing. Every day we’re posting multiple educational posts teaching how to become an optimal investor!

I wasn’t sure how I wanted to kick this week off. I landed on this post, because I hate to bury the lead. Instead of waxing poetic about all the theories and strategies behind optimal investing, I figured I’d just show you what stupid buttons to click on. It’s really easy. It takes about five minutes. WHY we do it this way (Roth IRA, target date index fund, buy and hold, stay the course, etc) is a longer explanation, but if you’re new to investing, at least we can demystify what it actually looks like to invest.

It’s really as easy as shown in this post. If you’re someone who has NEVER INVESTED before, I highly recommend doing this. Fidelity and the funds listed here have $0 minimums. Go open an account and throw in 50 bucks. That simple exercise can help eliminate the “static friction” keeping so many people from getting started. The fear of the unknown or worry about getting it wrong keeps so many people on the sidelines. Go give it a try with just a little bit of money and watch it while you keep learning more.

Stick with us the rest of the week while the crash course continues!

p.s. We’re also celebrating “Learn to Invest Week” with a HUGE sale on both of our money courses. They have crazy good reviews (averaging 4.98 stars with over 500 reviews). Normally each course is $79, but until Sunday you can get them for $59 or both for $99. They walk through all this stuff in greater detail, with video examples, interactive quizzes, and fun projects!

As always, reminding you to build wealth by following the two PFC rules: 1.) Live below your means and 2.) Invest early and often.
