I heard about this trick a year ago or so and actually did it! It’s super easy and pretty enlightening as to what you actually wear in your closet. If you go a FULL YEAR without wearing something, why keep it around? When you get rid of something you don’t like, ON AVERAGE, your stuff gets BETTER. Your closet is more empty. Your mind is less cluttered with keeping track of all of your stuff!
One phrase I like to remind myself of is “fewer things and nicer things”. Rather than buy 10 cheap shirts I don’t like, I’d rather have TWO that I do like and wear often. Even if those shirts are twice as expensive, you end up spending less and having stuff you like more! Win/win! I think that’s the difference between “cheap” and “frugal”. Cheap prioritizes cost. Frugal prioritizes value!
As always, reminding you to build wealth by following the two PFC rules: 1.) Live below your means and 2.) Invest early and often.
