Ursula Burns rise to CEO

For the first time in history, women CEOs are running more than 10% of Fortune 500 companies. While this is definitely progress, it shows that we still have a LONG way to go.

Ursula Burns was the CEO of Xerox from 2009-2016. She once said, “I can assure you that no one at my commencement was pointing at me and predicting that I would be the CEO of anything.”

What she accomplished paved the way for so many others. And, people are seeing what is possible from someone who looks like them and had a similar upbringing as them.

If you are a woman who wants to take on a leadership role, GO FOR IT! Doubt kills more dreams than anything else. And ask yourself if a man would have ever had any of the doubts that you are experiencing. Stop downplaying your talents. You can do it, and you can do it even better.

As always, reminding you to build wealth by following the two PFC rules: 1.) Live below your means and 2.) Invest early and often.‎
