2025 was a great year for the stock market! We always talk about how the stock market “returns 10% per year”, but in reality it rarely returns exactly 10%. Sometimes it’s a lot more (like this year at 17.6%), sometimes it’s a lot less (like the -19.4% in 2022). Over long periods of time it averages out to around 10%. That is a HUGE number compared to a savings account, but there’s a trade-off: You have to be up for a bumpy ride along the way.

Will 2026 be an up year or a down year? WHO KNOWS. There will be plenty of people who tell you it can’t keep going up. They say that every year. BUT, as always, do NOT listen to them and stick to simple strategy that’s sure to win over time: Invest early and often. Buy and hold.
